There are some Adobe API bugs in the latest versions of Premiere 24.2 and 24.2.1 that prevent SubMachine from working correctly. If you haven't already, it's best to turn off "Auto-Update" to avoid issues during a project until you're sure you're ready to update.
I'd recommend doing this immediately. In Creative Cloud go to Preferences > Apps to disable Auto Update for Premiere (And probably best to do After Effects as well).
If you've already auto-updated, I'd recommend rolling back to 24.1 if you'd like keep using SubMachine on a 2024 version, until the issue is resolved. We'll let you know here once we get word that Adobe has resolved these issues.
As Adobe states on their best practices page: "As with any software, we do not recommend updating when you are in the middle of a large project. The best time to update is when you’re between projects or working on smaller pieces."
- Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2023 or above
- Adobe After Effects CC 2023 or above
- Mac or Windows
Mogrts compatible with Premiere Pro 2023 in English are included and new and updated mogrts (including for 2022, 2024 and right to left languages) are regularly shared via Discord.
Mogrts can be manually downgraded by opening them in After Effects and using the "Save Copy As XX.X" command to open the mogrt in a previous version of After Effects. You can then export the mogrts in the frame rates you require.
Whilst SubMachine has predominantly been tested in English it does appear to work with SRT files in other languages too. So far we have tested Hebrew, Vietnamese and Danish SRT files, all with success. If you'd like me to runs some tests on an SRT in your language send an email to the address listed below with an example SRT file and I'll get back you as soon as possible.
Some fonts do not work well with some languages when it comes to special characters so it's worth bearing this in mind too.
SubMachine is locked to the two initial Adobe IDs you use it with. That means you can use it on one work and one personal Adobe ID. Each SubMachine license is for use by one, single user.
